Ketosis
A state of severe negative energy balance. Usually occurs post calving due to the increased energy requirements of the cow. Identified via blood testing, or in clinical cases symptoms such as lethargy, decreased feed intake, decreased milk production, sweet smelling breath, nervous or uncoordinated nature. Products such as Rumensin and Bovatec can assist reducing Ketosis.
